Winter Bird Identification

,

Recently, eleven of our ecologists gathered in Bo’ness for a wintering bird identification day on a crisp January morning. They were able to observe a variety of shorebirds in their natural habitat on the mud flats of the River Forth.

Highlights of the day included green shank, wigeon, ringed plover, shovelers and black-tailed godwit. The group worked together with experienced birders and a variety of bird ID books to identify the different species and to improve their wader ID skills!
