Wildcats

Wildcats are a European Protected Species, and are fully protected under the Conservation (Natural Habitats, &c.) Regulations 1994 (as amended). This protection also extends to their places of shelter. Wildcat are found predominantly north of the central belt of Scotland. Their preferred habitat is woodland, moorland, rough grassland and rocky open ground.

If your development is proposed in an area which includes suitable wildcat habitat, we can undertake survey for this species. Survey methods include daytime assessment and remote camera monitoring.
