Vegetation and Habitats

Direct Ecology can provide Phase 1 habitat survey on a site.  This level of survey is often required on a development site.  More detailed vegetation survey can be also be provided (e.g. National Vegetation Classification) if required.  Detailed target notes are taken of habitat features of note.  Maps of habitats are digitised and the digital files can be provided to the client, if required.

Survey can be undertaken for Schedule 8 Invasive exotic species listed on Schedule 8 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (Japanese Knotweed and Giant Hogweed).

Direct Ecology can produce a habitat management plan for your site if required.

Birds

Direct Ecology is able to undertake wintering bird survey, breeding bird survey as well as vantage point bird surveys for on shore windfarm sites or new overhead powerlines.  Almost any site may require a bird survey, within areas of semi-natural habitat as well as more urban areas.  Fully licensed survey can be undertaken for Barn Owl and other species with enhanced statutory protection.
