About Us

Direct Ecology Ltd was established in 2008 and is based in Dunblane, Central Scotland.  Beccy Osborn (BA Hons Oxon, MSc, MIEEM) is the company Director.  She has worked for over 8 years in the ecological consultancy profession, in which she has gained a wealth of experience and expertise.  She has a degree in Biological Sciences from Oxford University and an MSc in Environmental Management from the University of Stirling.  Her particular area of expertise is in protected animal species survey, impact assessment and mitigation.  She has held numerous Scottish Executive European Protected Species licences and licences under the Protection of Badgers Act 1992.  She is a full member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.  She undertakes contract bat work for Scottish Natural Heritage and has a bat roost survey licence.  She has undertaken training courses for the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM) on protected mammal species survey and mitigation measures.  Tailored made training courses on protected mammals can be given to clients if required. 

 

Direct Ecology can draw upon the experience of a wide range of consultant ecologists whose specialisms can be tailored to individual contracts.
