Specialising in protected species survey, assessment and mitigation

Direct Ecology Ltd

Welcome to the website of Direct Ecology Ltd.  We are based in Central Scotland and carry out ecological survey and assessment for a range of species and habitats.  Work is undertaken throughout Scotland and other parts of the UK. Expert advice is available for a wide range of development situations.  Our staff’s experience, knowledge and expertise mean that advice, survey and reporting are of a high quality and can be tailored to the needs of an individual project/client.  Practical, innovative and effective solutions are provided and we work to achieve project timescales, targets and budgets.

A complete range of ecological surveys can be provided, or if required specialist advice for one or more areas (e.g. bats).  Advice can be provided at all stages of the development process, from early site investigation and statutory consultee involvement, if required, through to the production of appropriate ecological impact assessment reports that can be submitted as part of the full Environmental Statement or  planning process.

Our ecologists are members of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM) and adhere to its code of professional conduct.  Direct Ecology holds professional indemnity and public and employers liability insurance cover and implements health & safety, environmental and quality assurance policies.
